Day  16:                                                Rest Day
After getting up before 6am for the majority of the last 8 days, it was enjoyable to have a sleep in until late morning.
Having ridden 2m apart for so long, it was healthy for us to spend some time apart and we each went our merry ways doing chores such as emergency food supply shopping, laundry, bike maintenance and resting.
While reading the paper Chris read an article about another crazy bloke who is travelling around Australia to find the best burger. Probably not as healthy for him as our adventure! Anyway, it turns out his number one was in Hughenden which is where we’ll be on Friday night. Unfortunately we’ll have 200km and sandy tracks to ride through to get there before it shuts... fingers crossed we get there in time!
We also enjoyed a lovely night meal around the campfire at the Bailey Bar Caravan Park, with about 40 to 50 of the guests. Jon finally got to try some damper and a big old stew... great fuel for tomorrow. We cant thank Wendy and Julian enough for their kindness and support, we’ve really enjoyed being here.
Anyway time for another early night, 5:30 wakeup call for a 6am departure tomorrow. Another hot but fine day is expected and we have 200 clicks to Tambo. Here’s hoping we arrive in daylight for a change!
